Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy covers both the paid CattleRevolution application and the free calculators and worksheets available at cattlerevolution.com/tools (the "Free Tools"). Where a section applies only to the paid app or only to the Free Tools, we call that out.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 When you create a paid account

When you register for the paid platform, subscribe to a plan, or contact us, we collect personal information including your name, email address, organization details, and payment information. We also collect usage data such as features accessed, time spent in the application, and device information.

2.2 When you use a Free Tool

The Free Tools do not require an account. You can fill in a tool and see the result on screen without giving us anything. When you ask us to email a PDF of your result, we collect:

• Your first name and email address.
• Optional: your operation size (as a range like "50–200 head").
• Your explicit opt-in to receive the PDF and occasional tips.
• The inputs you entered in the tool and the numbers we computed from them. We store this on the lead record so that, if you later become a paid customer or ask for support, we can see the context of the report you received.
• UTM parameters from your URL (utm_source, utm_campaign, etc.), so we can tell which ads or articles brought you here.
• Basic request metadata — IP address and browser agent — for abuse prevention and rate limiting. We do not store your IP address long term alongside your lead record.

A small invisible form field (the "honeypot") is present only to catch automated bots; real visitors never see it and its value is discarded.

2.3 Local storage on your device

The Closeout Report Generator saves a draft of your inputs in your browser's local storage so you can come back and finish it later. This stays on your device; nothing is sent to us until you submit the form. The "Clear draft" link on that tool removes it immediately.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the CattleRevolution platform and Free Tools.
• Process subscriptions and payments through our payment processor (Stripe).
• Send the requested PDF when you submit a Free Tool, and the service-related emails the paid app requires (receipts, password resets, delivery notifications, etc.).
• Send occasional tips about cattle feeding only if you explicitly opt in at the form. You can unsubscribe at any time — see Section 6.
• Provide customer support.
• Analyze usage patterns in aggregate to improve our services (see Section 3.1 below).

3.1 Aggregated and de-identified data

As described in Section 6 of our Terms of Service, we may combine the operational data you submit (herd records, rations, deliveries, closeouts, financial entries, and similar inputs) with data from other customers and use it in aggregated and de-identified form for industry benchmarking, market and seasonal trend analysis, research and development, training of statistical and machine-learning models, internal business analytics, and the publication of aggregated insights such as average cost of gain by region, ration adoption trends, or ship-window patterns.

Before your data is used this way, we remove direct identifiers (name, email, address, account identifiers) and any other field that could reasonably identify your operation. Once de-identified, the data is no longer treated as personal information, may be retained and shared without restriction, and survives termination of your account.

We do not sell identifiable personal information or operational data to third parties, and we do not share identifiable Customer Data with other customers.

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

Your data is stored securely in our databases using industry-standard encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

We keep lead records from the Free Tools for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, or until you ask us to erase them (see Section 7), whichever is sooner. Accounts for the paid app are retained for as long as the account is active plus a reasonable archival period after cancellation to satisfy tax, legal, and contractual requirements.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform and understand how it is used. Each has its own privacy policy governing the use of your information:

• Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions.
• Google Analytics — aggregate usage metrics such as pages viewed, referrer, and device type. We do not send personally identifying information to Google Analytics.
• Microsoft Clarity — behavioral analytics that may record mouse clicks, scrolls, and anonymized session playback to help us understand how the site is used and improve it. Clarity's default settings mask sensitive form inputs (such as passwords). See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
• Transactional email provider — we use a reputable email delivery service to send the PDFs and any tips you've opted into. Email providers necessarily process your email address and the content of the message.

6. Your Email Choices (CAN-SPAM / CASL)

Marketing email is always opt-in. The checkbox on every Free Tool is unchecked by default (“Send me the PDF and occasional tips for small cattle feeding operations. No spam. Unsubscribe any time.”) and you have to tick it before the form will submit.

Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time at cattlerevolution.com/unsubscribe (paste the token from any email into that form). Unsubscribing stops marketing email but does not delete your lead record — use Section 7 for that.

Service emails — receipts, password resets, and the PDF you explicitly asked us to send — are not covered by this opt-out because they are not marketing.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access, update, or delete your personal information.
• Cancel your paid subscription at any time.
• Request a copy of your data.
• Opt out of non-essential communications (see Section 6).
• Request erasure of your lead record and associated data. Email the address on the contact page and we will delete within 30 days.
